About Pembroke Pines, Florida
Pembroke Pines is the ninth largest city in Florida with a
population of approximately 151,000. This community has
instituted special policies to ensure that homes will retain
their property value. New residents will find different types of
housing available in what used to be pastures near the
Everglades swamps. This community has several strip malls and
family restaurants as well as the Pembroke Lakes mall. Seniors
can make a home in a gated condominium community call Century
Village. This community is one of the fastest growing in
Florida. Pembroke Pines is about 15 miles inland of Fort
Lauderdale. The community’s multi-ethnic population has given
rise to a wide range of churches, temples, and synagogues, to
interesting cultural events, and to a varied ethnic dining and
retail scene.
West Pembroke Pines has the
huge Pembroke Lakes Mall, a major draw for surrounding
communities. Schools are excellent and the Broward Community
College campus provides a wide range of vocational training for
graduates. Families have plenty of outdoors to enjoy; the CB
Smith Park covers over 300 acres and is a lovely place to visit,
with ample picnic spots, walking trails, camp sites, and an
extensive water park, with slides, and lots more. Pembroke Pines
is in Broward County, located about 15 miles south of downtown
Fort Lauderdale on the Florida Turnpike. Miami is about 15 miles
southeast of Pembroke Pines, and the comprehensive system of
